SUMMARY OF CU CREDITS
The following table, extracted from Table 7, shows the compilation of the dry -up credits and the
corresponding CU credits for each set of shares. These amounts are fully consumable for
industrial uses (including dust suppression and domestic use at the mine facilities), and
augmentation purposes. Excess CU credits will be stored in various ponds as space is available.
Month
CU credit for 27 shares,
max of 97.8 acre -feet
CU credit for 34 shares
Units
acre -feet
acre -feet
Totalacres
74
67.18
Totalshares
27
34
April
3.89
4.99
May
16.88
16.87
June
19.49
25.02
July
20.30
26.06
August
18.54
23.80
September
14.82
14.64
October
3.88
4.98
Total
97.80
116.37
MINING WATER DEPLETIONS
Mining water depletions potentially could have an impact on nearby wells and downstream
senior surface water rights. To mitigate against any such impacts, analysis must quantify the
amounts of such depletions and identify the point in the drainage where the depletion is
occurring. Currently, the active mining depletions associated with NH2 are all within the Tuttle
drainage. Future depletions in NHN will occur to both the Tuttle and Coal Canyon draws.
Future depletions for the Cyprus area will occur to Calamity Draw and the San Miguel River.
Table 15 lists the estimated monthly depletions for the basin in which they occur, and the
method of augmentation.
DUST SUPPRESSION
Dust suppression is the main industrial use of water at the mine. Dust suppression use is fully
consumptive. A WFC mine engineer has stated that the dust suppression amounts for the future
mining of NHN and Cyprus areas will most likely be similar to the amounts that have occurred at
NH2 since 1998.
Since 1998, WFC has kept accurate monthly records of the water pumped into trucks and applied
to roads for dust suppression in the NH2 area. Table 9 shows the minimum, maximum and
average monthly amounts of dust suppression from 1998 to 2008. To be consistent with average
VA
