Inc. <br />Ambient Temperature Ranges for reporting period: <br />Low: 15 ° F — 34 ° F <br />High: 28 ° F - 55 ° F <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />I) Earthworks <br />A) VLF (Phase I) <br />Reporting Period: 03.10.13 thru 03.16.13 <br />amec9 <br />Project Number: Date <br />74201125N0. * * * *. * * ** 03.16.2013 <br />Weather conditions for reportinjjeriod: <br />Cloud Cover: Clear and Cloudy at times <br />Precipitation: Dusting of Snow / Clear <br />Wind: Calm to Gusts at times <br />Ames: The contractor confirmed on Tuesday the 12` double shift (Night) will begin on Monday the 18 <br />Amec: None <br />Project Issues: None at this time <br />Planning: Continuing Construction activities and scheduling for VLF and HWY 67. <br />Topsoil Stripping: <br />Several Cat D-8 dozer's and Cat D-6 LGP dozer's continued to salvage topsoil within the planned Squaw Gulch, <br />Phase I VLF. One Cat 390 and one Cat 330 excavator loaded several 740 articulating haul trucks with topsoil then <br />transported to stockpile area No.34. Visual observations indicate approximately 1 to 1.5 feet of topsoil are being <br />salvaged, however some areas observed there was as much as 3 to 4 feet and the area within the PSSA and Hwy <br />67 embankment there is up to 12 feet of organic/unsuitable materials being removed. <br />Structural Fill: <br />An Amec field representative observed the fill placement and compaction of structural fill (by method specification) <br />effort's within the Phase I and II Squaw Gulch VLF (see figure 1). A cat 563 smooth drum roller was used for the <br />compaction efforts and a Cat 010 and a Cat D8 was utilized to push and place materials as structural fill. Structural <br />fill materials were placed in 18 to 24 inch lifts then compacted by Method specification. It should be noted, all <br />required safety berms are constructed in conjunction with the haul route construction. <br />Amec field representative monitored structural fill material placed within the Phase I and II Squaw Gulch VLF during <br />all shifts.
