EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan
a) Mining will utilize the following operations:
i) Use of a front -end loader or track hoe to remove and stockpile existing top soil
ii) Utilize front -end loader or track hoe to remove and stockpile overburden
iii) Utilize front -end loader or track hoe to push up gravel
iv) Utilize a frontend loader or track hoe to load material onto trucks.
b) The site will be mined to approximately 25 feet deep. Mining will be done on an
approximate 3:1 slope down to the bottom of the pit area. Topsoil is approximately
6" in depth. The pit will have the topsoil stripped and stockpiled for re- application
during reclamation. Any disturbed banks will also be stripped and stockpiled for later
use in reclamation. Any topsoil stockpile will be seeded with brome grass to prevent
soil erosion.
c) There are no anticipated water diversions or impoundments. There is no surface
water at the site. When rainfall occurs, the pit area may be unworkable for a few
days. Since the use of the pit is intermittent, we will be able to work around those
occurrences.
d) Our intent is to work approximately 7.0 acres during completion of the first phase and
8.0 acres in the second mining phase. A majority of mining has already occurred in
the north tract. As that tract is completed, reclamation will begin there and mining
will move to the south tract, taking approximately 6 years to complete. We plan to
maintain a 25 -foot setback around the entire perimeter of the south tract for
maintenance and inspection. Thus, only 15.0 acres will actually be disturbed. The
boundary line and corners of the open areas will be clearly staked with painted steel
posts.
e) Mining has occurred over a number of years in the north tract. Top soil has been
stockpiled. The top soil on the south tract also appears to be about 6" deep.
Stockpiles of top soil will be seeded with brome grass to minimize blowing or
erosion. When the north tract is mined out, the top soil will be spread out evenly and
the 3:1 slope maintained on the sidewalls. The North Tract will then be seeded
according to the reclamation plan. The next area to be mined will be the South Tract.
No on -site processing is anticipated.
i) Since the pit will be used on an intermittent basis, it is difficult to estimate the
time it will take to mine both areas. We are estimating that it will take six years
to mine the expanded pit.
