EXHIBIT E : Reclamation Plan
First Plan :
i. Final grading will be set at a 2 :1 ratio as a maximum
and an average of 3 :1.
ii. Topsoil will not be replaced since the affected lands
will be covered by tailings in approximately twenty
years .
iii. Seeding will consist of the Climax mixture (see Table E-1)
and will be applied at the rate of 30-40 lbs/a. Depending
on the completion of the mining operation, seeding will occur
in late summer or late spring.
iv. Approximately 200 lbs/acre of P2O fertilizer and 200 lbs/
acre of ammonium nitrate fertilizer will be applied to the
affected lands .
V. No trees or shrubs will be planted since the affected lands
are scheduled to be covered by tailing in approximately
twenty years .
vi. In approximately twenty years , the affected land will be
inundated by tailing water and tailing. Tailing deposi-
tion will continue until approximately the year 2010 , at
which time the tailing pond surface will be rock faced with
Open Pit waste material at a depth of approximately three
feet for stabilization purposes . Portions of the rock faced
pond will then be covered with topsoil or some other appro-
priate growth medium materials and then planted with lodge-
pole pine trees and high altitude shrubs , fertilized at
60 lbs/acre N from ammonium nitrate , seeded (see table E-1)
with the Climax seed mixture at 30 lbs/acres and mulched.
The remaining portions of the rock faced pond will also be
fertilized ( 60 lbs/acre N from ammonium nitrate and 200 lbs/
acre P2O5) , seeded with the Climax seed mix at 30-50 lbs/
acre and mulched. (Open Pit waste material has sufficient
fines for vegetation growth) .
Table E-1
Species Strain % by weight
Hard Fescue Durar 8
Creeping Red Fescue Pennlawn 8
Orchard Grass Potomic 5
Creeping Foxtail Garrison 10
Timothy Climax 5
Red Top V.N.S . 3
Smooth Brome Manchar 17
Kentucky Bluegrass Newport 3
White Dutch Clover 10
Balbo Rye 23
Cicer Milkvetch 8
