2012 DISTURBANCE AREA <br />There were 4.9 additional acres disturbed during 2012. The total disturbance is 1,290.2 acres. This <br />acreage is reflected on the CDRMS Annual Report Form and is discussed in the text of the <br />following report. The attached 2012 Reclamation map portrays the physical disturbance boundary. <br />BACKFILLING AND GRADING <br />There were 8.4 acres graded in 2012. <br />TOPSOIL AND SPOIL MONITORING <br />SENECA II -W MINE <br />2012 ANNUAL RECLAMATION REPORT <br />SCC is required by Permit C -82 -057 to monitor the salvage, storage, and redistribution of topsoil <br />and spoil handling operations at the Seneca II -W Mine. Only 8.4 acres of backfilling /grading and <br />4.1 acres of topsoil replacement were conducted during 2012, no monitoring was conducted. <br />• Topsoil Recovery Documentation <br />There was no additional topsoil recovered during 2012. <br />• 2012 Topsoil Replacement Thickness <br />There were 4.1 acres of topsoil replaced along J Road and Pond 016. No topsoil thickness samples <br />were collected, however an average of approximately 0.9 feet of topsoil was replaced over the <br />regraded area. <br />• Soil Pit — Topsoil Fertility /Spoil Suitability <br />No topsoil fertility or spoil suitability samples were collected in 2012. <br />• Topsoil Balance <br />SCC submitted a topsoil balance with Permit Revision 04 (dated 9/04). The topsoil balance has not <br />been revised because Seneca II -W is reclaimed except for roads and facilities areas. <br />Topsoil Salvage and Storage. No topsoil was salvaged during 2012. The life -of -mine disturbance <br />from which topsoil was salvaged (1,290.2 acres) and the topsoil stockpile sites as of December 31, <br />2012 are shown the 2012 Topsoil Replacement map. <br />The remaining stockpile volumes as of December 31, 2012 are listed in Table 12.1, Topsoil Stockpile <br />Volumes. As of the end of 2012, 20.5 acre -feet of topsoil remain stockpiled in the mining area. <br />Topsoil Replacement. 4.1 acres of topsoil was replaced during 2012. Therefore, the total <br />remaining mine disturbance area requiring topsoil (as of December 31, 2012) is 25.5 acres. <br />1 <br />
