Nolan, MD, MPH <br />Executive Director <br />MAY 6 1994 <br />The Air Pollution Control Division has reviewed your emission permit application for the following source in the <br />New Horizon Mine premises, located at 27646 West 5th Avenue, Nucla, Montrose County, Colorado: <br />One (1) Wedco LX -350 or Cleanburn CB3500, SIN: not available, rated at 350,000 BTU per hour, space <br />heater, combusting used crankcase oil. <br />It has been determined that the above emission point has uncontrolled actual emissions of less than two tons per year <br />and does not emit significant quantities of hazardous or odorous pollutants. The above emission point is therefore <br />exempt from the filing of Air Pollutant Emission Notice(s), APEN(s), and is also exempt from permit requirements, <br />per Regulation No. 3. <br />This exemption from permit requirements is issued in reliance upon the accuracy and completeness of information <br />supplied by the applicant and is conditioned upon construction, installation and operation in accordance with this <br />information and with representations made by the applicant or applicant's agents. Specifically, this exemption has <br />been granted provided that the following information is accurate and complete: <br />Annual consumption of used crankcase oil (also referred as waste oil) does not exceed 2.5 gallons per hour, <br />and 16,425 gallons per year (based on 9 months per year operation). <br />According to the Division's preliminary analysis, this emission point will result in the emission of the following air <br />pollutants (on an uncontrolled actual basis): <br />Particulate Matter: 0.60 ton per year. <br />Sulfur Dioxide: 0.85 ton per year. <br />Nitrogen Oxides: 0.20 ton per year. <br />
