PUBLIC NOTICE <br />GCC Energy, LLC, 6473 County Road 120, Hesperus, Colorado 81326, phone (970) 385 -4528, <br />has filed an application for a technical revision (TR -20) to a valid existing permit for the King I <br />Mine (permit C -81 -035) with the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety. The <br />subject of the revision is to propose engineering designs for the reclamation of the west <br />highwall cut at the King I underground coal mine, which was permanently closed in January, <br />2009. The affected area is located in Section 32; T35N, R11W, N.M.P.M., La Plata County, <br />Colorado at 4424 County Road 120. The surface of the affected area is owned by GCC Energy, <br />LLC and Huntington Ranches, LLC. All mining activities of the mine lie to the south side of Hay <br />Gulch, approximately 4.5 miles southwest of Hesperus, CO, as identified on U.S.G.S. 7.5- <br />minute quadrangle of Hesperus. The proposed land use at the completion of mining is <br />rangeland. <br />A copy of the application is available for public review at the La Plata County Clerk and <br />Recorder's Office, 98 Everett St., Suite C, Durango, CO, and at the Colorado Division of <br />Reclamation, Mining & Safety, 1313 Sherman St., Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone <br />(303) 866 -3567. Anyone with a valid interest may submit written comments or objections <br />within 30 days of the last publication of this notice. All comments, objections, and requests <br />must be submitted in writing to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety at the <br />above address.
