SC -07 -002 January 4, 2013 <br />UTILITIES <br />Known utilities within the limits of this project are: <br />Telephone — Century Link <br />Power — Black Hill Energy <br />Natural Gas — Colorado Natural Gas <br />Loyd Carbajog <br />Eric Sisco <br />Howard Wirtz <br />(719) 278 -4639 <br />(719) 546 -5882 <br />1 800 720 8193 <br />The work described in these plans and specifications requires coordination between the Contractor and the utility <br />companies in accordance with subsection 105.11 in conducting their respective operations as necessary to <br />complete the utility work with minimum delay to the project. <br />The work listed below shall be performed by the Contractor in accordance with the plans and specifications, and <br />as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor shall keep each utility company advised of any work being done to <br />its facility, so that the utility company can coordinate its inspections for final acceptance of the work with the <br />Engineer. <br />The Contractor shall be required to meet with each utility owner impacted by the work a minimum of thirty (30) <br />days in advance of any construction operations to coordinate required utility work with the construction activity. <br />Coordination with utility owners includes, but is not limited to, providing and periodically updating an accurate <br />construction schedule that includes all utility work elements. Surveying and /or staking of utility relocations to be <br />performed by the owner shall be the responsibility of the owner. <br />FOR EACH UTILITY OWNER SHOWN BELOW, THE WORK LISTED UNDER "CONTRACTOR <br />RESPONSIBILITIES" SHALL BE PERFORMED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE <br />PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. EACH UTILITY OWNER, OR <br />THEIR AGENTS, WILL PERFORM THE WORK LISTED UNDER "UTILITY COMPANY <br />RESPONSIBILITIES ". <br />The Contractor shall keep each utility owner advised of any work being done to its facility so that each utility <br />owner can coordinate its inspections for final acceptance of the work with the Engineer. <br />NOTE: The Contractor shall provide written notice to each utility owner, with a copy to the Engineer, <br />immediately prior to each utility work element expected to be coordinated with construction, and shall <br />allow the expected number of working days for utilities to complete necessary work. The number of day's <br />prior notice is noted for each utility owner. <br />Utility Company Responsibilities — <br />All utility companies will provide locates as necessary upon proper advanced notification. <br />GENERAL: <br />The Contractor shall comply with Article 1.5 of Title 9, CRS ("Excavation Requirements ") when excavation or <br />grading is planned in the area of underground utility facilities. The Contractor shall notify all affected utilities at <br />least two (2) business days, not including the day of notification, prior to commencing such operations. The <br />Contractor shall contact the Utility Notification Center of Colorado (UNCC) at (8 -1 -1) or 1- 800 - 922 -1987 to <br />have locations of UNCC registered lines marked by member companies. All other underground facilities shall be <br />located by contacting the respective company. Utility service laterals shall also be located prior to beginning <br />excavating or grading. <br />The location of utility facilities as shown on the plan and profile sheets, and herein described, were obtained from <br />the best available information. <br />All costs incidental to the foregoing requirements will not be paid for separately but shall be included in the work. <br />18 <br />
