SC -07 -002 January 4, 2013 UTILITIES Known utilities within the limits of this project are: Telephone — Century Link Power — Black Hill Energy Natural Gas — Colorado Natural Gas Loyd Carbajog Eric Sisco Howard Wirtz (719) 278 -4639 (719) 546 -5882 1 800 720 8193 The work described in these plans and specifications requires coordination between the Contractor and the utility companies in accordance with subsection 105.11 in conducting their respective operations as necessary to complete the utility work with minimum delay to the project. The work listed below shall be performed by the Contractor in accordance with the plans and specifications, and as directed by the Engineer. The Contractor shall keep each utility company advised of any work being done to its facility, so that the utility company can coordinate its inspections for final acceptance of the work with the Engineer. The Contractor shall be required to meet with each utility owner impacted by the work a minimum of thirty (30) days in advance of any construction operations to coordinate required utility work with the construction activity. Coordination with utility owners includes, but is not limited to, providing and periodically updating an accurate construction schedule that includes all utility work elements. Surveying and /or staking of utility relocations to be performed by the owner shall be the responsibility of the owner. FOR EACH UTILITY OWNER SHOWN BELOW, THE WORK LISTED UNDER "CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES" SHALL BE PERFORMED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, OR AS DIRECTED BY THE ENGINEER. EACH UTILITY OWNER, OR THEIR AGENTS, WILL PERFORM THE WORK LISTED UNDER "UTILITY COMPANY RESPONSIBILITIES ". The Contractor shall keep each utility owner advised of any work being done to its facility so that each utility owner can coordinate its inspections for final acceptance of the work with the Engineer. NOTE: The Contractor shall provide written notice to each utility owner, with a copy to the Engineer, immediately prior to each utility work element expected to be coordinated with construction, and shall allow the expected number of working days for utilities to complete necessary work. The number of day's prior notice is noted for each utility owner. Utility Company Responsibilities — All utility companies will provide locates as necessary upon proper advanced notification. GENERAL: The Contractor shall comply with Article 1.5 of Title 9, CRS ("Excavation Requirements ") when excavation or grading is planned in the area of underground utility facilities. The Contractor shall notify all affected utilities at least two (2) business days, not including the day of notification, prior to commencing such operations. The Contractor shall contact the Utility Notification Center of Colorado (UNCC) at (8 -1 -1) or 1- 800 - 922 -1987 to have locations of UNCC registered lines marked by member companies. All other underground facilities shall be located by contacting the respective company. Utility service laterals shall also be located prior to beginning excavating or grading. The location of utility facilities as shown on the plan and profile sheets, and herein described, were obtained from the best available information. All costs incidental to the foregoing requirements will not be paid for separately but shall be included in the work. 18
