CC &V PROJECT NO. SC -07 -002 January 4, 2013 <br />2 <br />TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN - GENERAL <br />On all 2 -lane portions of highway, the Contractor shall maintain a minimum of one lane open to traffic at all <br />times, unless otherwise approved by the Engineer. During the resurfacing work, only one lane may be closed to <br />traffic at any time unless approved by the Engineer. <br />The Contractor shall not have cumulative delays to the traveling public through all construction zones that would <br />exceed 15 minutes in each direction. If delays exceed the times indicated as determined by the Engineer, the <br />Contractor will be asked to remove their equipment and resume traffic control until traffic is resumed to a <br />reasonable level. <br />The Contractor shall direct oversized vehicles around the work zone. Wide -loads shall be restricted when work <br />required the travel lane to be less than 14 -feet wide. <br />Access to /from Approach Roads. Unless otherwise included in the plans, or as directed by the Engineer, the <br />Contractor shall maintain access to and from each approach road. <br />One lane of traffic shall be maintained at all times. During the work one lane of traffic will be maintained during <br />day with flaggers. <br />The Contractor may elect to work multiple shifts in order to meet the time constrains required for this project. <br />All flagging stations used at night shall be adequately illuminated in accordance with the MUTCD. Adequate <br />illuminations of flagging stations shall include the use of light plans whenever other sources of adequate lighting <br />are not available. Adequate illumination shall be as approves or determined by the Engineer. The Contractor shall <br />provide necessary lighting during night construction. <br />Storage of Contractor's equipment as approved by the Engineer shall be limited to the following: <br />(1) At least 30 feet beyond the edge of the pavement. <br />(2) Behind protected barrier if less than 30 feet. <br />Any signs, delineators, or other devices damaged due to Contractor operations shall be replaced in kind or <br />repaired by the Contractor at no cost to project. The Contractor, prior to starting work, shall make an inventory of <br />existing signs and submit the inventory to the Engineer. <br />Fines double signs shall be placed according to CDOT Standard Special Provisions. The Contractor shall limit <br />fines double signs to activities where and when workers are present on the roadway. <br />All costs incidental to the foregoing requirements shall be included in the original contract prices for the project. <br />17 <br />
