4 (FORM 2 - Public filing)
11. Describe proposed surface excavation or other land disturbance, including roads, pits, trenches, waste piles, drill pads and
collar areas of underground workings, ponds, etc...
The Exploration will consist of excavating a pit within the 1/2 acre mine site boundaries to bulk test
approximately 70 cubic yards of deposit material from surface to bedrock. Within the mine site boundaries
excavated pit. From FS250 and the entrance point of the mine, a 10 foot by approximately 300 foot trail will
need to be made to access the mine site and proposed pit.
12. Proposed Disturbance (approximate) Describe the proposed drilling to be conducted, including anticipated number of holes,
diameter, depth, location, etc... Submit additional pages if necessary:
A. Drill Pads: Quantity Average Width (ft) Average Length (ft)
B. Drill Holes: Quantity Depth (ft) Diameter (in)
C. Mud Pits: Quantity Average Width (ft) Average Length (ft)
Average Depth (ft)
Described proposed underground work, including reopening of old workings, advancement of edits or shafts,
trenches, pits, cuts, rock dumps, or other types of disturbance, describe type, quantity and general dimensions:
Based on an average depth of 6 feet the proposed pit will disturb approximately 320 square feet on
the surface. The vegetation layer stockpile will take up approximately 150 square feet on the
surface. All proposed pit and stockpile disturbances will be contained within
the 1/2 acre mine site boundaries.
F. Other Disturbances (please describe):
All significant disturbances will be contained within the boundaries of the 1/2 acre mine site. The trail
from the mine entrance to the mine site will cross the Alamosa River and the gravel deposit being
The trail will be 10 feet wide and approximately 300 feet long. It is calculated that this trail will disturb no
more than 3000 square feet of the surface.
G. Indicate Chemicals and Fuels used or stored on site. List type, quantity and method to store.
No chemicals will be used in the processing of the deposit material. Fuel will he contained
in gas can containers in the bed of a pickup truck.
F. New Road(s): Length 300.00 (ft) Width 10.00 (ft)
Significantly Upgraded Road(s) Length (ft) Width (ft)
Are culverts or other crossings proposed? If so, please describe:
The road from the mine entrance to the mine site will be more like a trail. No road will be
constructed only a path used to access the mine site for a short time. Crossing the Alamosa
River will not require culverts as the river is a split channel ana snaitow in this area.
