Stover & Associates,
Inc. on behalf of Bowie Resources, LLC (BRL) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine permit, and has the
following comments:
Waste Bank Daily Compaction Reports:
1. It appears that there are two compaction test locations that were reported as not
meeting the standard that were not subsequently retested.
a. For the 3rd quarter or 2012, on August 28, 2012, Test Number 738 was reported
at 80.1% compaction. It does not appear that this test site was reevaluated in
the 3rd or 4th quarters. Please provide data from retesting that indicates that
this area was properly compacted, or retest the area and provide the
compaction data.
b. For the 4th quarter of 2012, on October 2, 2012, Test Number 755 was reported
at 84.0% compaction. Subsequent retests on October 10, 2012 (755A - 82.1 %)
and November 8, 2012 (7558 - 87.2 %) were also below the standard. Please
provide data from retesting that indicates that this area was properly
compacted, or retest the area and provide the compaction data.
Office of Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand Junction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
