being carried out in cooperation with Colorado State University,
Department of Forest and Wood Sciences. The principal investi-
gators are C.P.P. Reid, and his graduate student S.C. Gross-
nickle . At this time, no results are available on the research.
It is hoped that the results from the Mycorrhizal Fungi Research
will provide Climax needed information to establish conifer
seedlings on disturbed landscapes at Climax.
9 . 14 COLORADO MOUNTAIN COLLEGE (Leadville , Colorado)
Climax cooperates with Colorado Mountain College' s
Environmental Protection Technology (E.P.T. ) section to provide
technical assistance regarding high altitude revegetation and
other related environmental activities. In 1976 and 1977 ,
revegetation materials were provided to the E.P.T. class to use
for field studies, which occurred on Climax Property. Climax
also assists the E.P.T. Advisory Board to provide quality educa-
tion and council for its students.
9. 15 INFORMATION DISSEMINATION
As a cooperating member of the "Committee for
High-Altitude Revegetation" , Climax has also assisted in get-
ting the proceedings of the High Altitude Revegetation Workshops
published. Proceedings of both workshops are available on re-
quest from the CSU Environmental Resources Center as Information
Series 10 , Proceedings of a Workshop on Revegetation of
High-Altitude Disturbed Lands, W.A. Berg , J.A. Brown, and R. L.
Cuany (Co-Chairman) , and Information Series 21 , Proceedings -
High-Altitude Revegetation Workshop No. 2 , R.H. Zuck, L.F. Brown
(Editors) . Climax also co-sponsored a comprehensive literature
review of work done on rehabilitation of disturbed high-altitude
lands . The product is a bibliography with abstracts and a
subject index. It should be an aid to anyone involved in re-
clamation at high altitudes and is also available on request
from the CSU Environmental Resource Center as Information Series
No. 14 , Bibliography Pertinent to Disturbance and Rehabilitation
of Alpine and Subalpine Lands in the Southern Rocky Mountains,
Ordell Steen and W.A. Berg ( Editors) .
9-21
