tion of the East Campus of Colorado Mountain College assumed <br /> utilization rights of the 10 . 29 acre property from Climax , in- <br /> cluding buildings and all service and utility hookups. <br /> The site of a former shopping center located on the <br /> opposite side of Highway 91 from the main entrance to the Climax <br /> plant has been converted to a roadside park. The buildings were <br /> removed and the concrete foundations were broken up and hauled <br /> to a landfill dump. The area was contoured in 1971 and reclam- <br /> ation completed in 1972. Picnic tables, pedestal-type inform- <br /> ation boards explaining the history and geology of the area, <br /> Climax operations, and other points of interest have been <br /> located in the park.
