fine ore bin to complete milling processes of primary grinding
in ball mills, primary concentration by flotation, cleaner
concentration and then filtering , drying and packaging.
Circuit improvements will occur in keeping with the highest
technologies. Most of the product is shipped to Climax' s
domestic and foreign conversion plants. By-products include
tungsten, tin and pyrite concentrates. Slurried tailing from
the mill is delivered by gravity to three tailing deposition
ponds.
2. 7 TAILING DEPOSITION
Tailing deposition sites include the Robinson Tailing
Pond (.13) _(approximately 861 acres including its two Dams , No.
1 and No. 2 Dams ( 14 and 15 ) , located directly north of the
mill site upon the natural divide between the Eagle River and
Tenmile Creek drainages ; and the Tenmile Tailing Pond (22)
( approximately 613 acres including its Dam, No. 3 Dam (23) )
located at a lower elevation north of, and contiguous with the
Robinson Tailing Pond; and the Mayflower Tailing Pond (31 )
( approximately 406 acres including its Dam, No. 5 Dam) located
approximately five miles north of the mill at a lower elevation
than the Tenmile Tailing Pond . Its ultimate acreage will be
1 , 280 acres including its Dam. The crest of the No. 5 Dam will
be approximately 515 feet high and have an overall face slope
of 4: 1 . No. 1 , No. 2 and No. 3 Dams have face slopes of
approximately 3: 1 .
The Robinson Tailing Pond will remain active probably
through the midyears of Phase III or approximately 1990 , while
the Tenmile and Mayflower Tailing Pond will function for the
life of the mine. Approximately 75,_000 . oubic_ yards of topsoil
have been stripped from the Mayflower tailing area to date . A
total of approximately 300, 000 cubic yards will be stripped
fr-or_-the__area during Phases II and III .
