Status: Mining operations at the Jeronimus Pit are complete. Operations
on -site include backfilling of the pit with fines from the Hazeltine Pit. No
backfilling occurred in 2012 and for the purposes of this SWSP's projected
depletions it was assumed that no backfilling would occur in 2013. The
only depletion covered by this SWSP is water lost due to evaporation. The
area exposed prior to 1981 at the Jeronimus Pit is tied to the location as
shown on the exhibit dated January 31, 2011 as provided in the 2011
SWSP. The credits for the pre -1981 area are tied to the location identified
on that map and may not be re- allocated to other areas of ground water
exposure within the gravel pit permit boundary.
Exposed Ground Water Surface: 7.7 acres post -81, 14.7 acres pre -81
Active Dewatering: No
Status: Regular mining operations are projected to continue for the
Hazeltine Pit in 2013. Depletions covered by this SWSP include water lost
due to dewatering, evaporation, aggregate production, and dust control.
Dewatering operations are expected to remain continual and constant at a
rate of 900 gallons per minute.
Exposed Ground Water Surface: 5.6 acres
Active Dewatering: Yes
Status: Mining operations at the Brighton Pit are complete and reclamation
is in progress. Depletions covered by this SWSP include water lost due to
evaporation and dust control. The south and central reservoirs are lined
with a slurry wall (WDID 0203385) and have obtained SEO liner approval.
Reclamation work includes backfilling the remaining exposed areas, of
which 5 acres were backfilled in 2012.
Exposed Ground Water Surface: 6.0 acres
Active Dewatering: No
Status: Mining operations have not started at Tucson South Pit, and are
not anticipated to commence until after 2013. This SWSP covers no
depletions at this site.
Exposed Ground Water Surface: 0.0 acres
Active Dewatering: No
Status: Mining operations at the Tucson Pit are complete and reclamation
is in progress. Depletions covered by this SWSP include water lost due to
evaporation and post - pumping dewatering depletions from this site. A
portion of the pit (Rogers Reservoir, WDID 0203917) has been Tined with a
slurry wall and has obtained SEO liner approval. Post - pumping depletions
will cease in 2013.
