Red Point Mine Escape and Evacuation Plan <br />As required by 30 CFR 57.11053, the following Escape and Evacuation plan has been developed for the <br />Red Point Mine. <br />30 CFR 57.111053 (a) Please see attached mine map showing features to meet this section of the <br />regulations. <br />30 CFR 57.11053(b) In the event of an emergency, miners will be notified in person by outside personnel. <br />Additionally, compressed air power will be shut down for a short period (30 minutes) to alert <br />underground miners that there is an emergency situation. <br />30 CFR 57.11053 (c) Miners shall use the following escape plans to evacuate the mine depending on the <br />area of the mine they are in at the time of the emergency: <br />Evacuation Routes <br />20 GPT Room- Primary escape route- proceed to 20 West entry then to Main Portal Entry and <br />out to surface. Secondary escape route- take either South Main Access or North Main Access to <br />Ventilation Drift, proceed out Ventilation Drift to Surface. <br />30 GPT Room- Primary escape route- proceed to Main Portal Entry via North or South Main <br />Access, proceed out Main Portal Entry to surface. Secondary Escape Route- Proceed to <br />Ventilation Drift and out to surface. <br />35 GPT Room- Primary escape route - proceed to South Main Entry (North Main Entry is South is <br />blocked) to Main Portal Entry, and out to surface. Secondary Escape Route- proceed to <br />Ventilation Drift and out to surface. <br />Ventilation Drift /Supply Fan- Primary Escape route- proceed to South Main Access to Main <br />Portal Entry and out to surface. Secondary Escape Route- proceed out Ventilation Drift past Fan <br />bulkhead, and out to surface. <br />South Main Access & North Main Access- Primary Escape Route- Proceed to Main Portal <br />Entry and out to surface. Secondary Escape Route- Proceed to Ventilation Drift, and out to <br />surface. <br />Once outside, all mine personal shall gather at the muster point on the road to the east of the portal of the <br />mine. Mine personnel may be told to move to a safer location in the event that an emergency places them <br />in danger at this muster point. <br />
