ameO
2.5 Phase 5 Berm Modification Composite Liner System
The Phase 5 Berm Modification is comprised of a primary composite liner, that consists of a
minimum of 12 inches of compacted SLF overlain by a layer of 80 -mil double -sided textured
linear low density polyethylene ( LLDPE) geomembrane.
The installation of the primary geomembrane layer in the Phase 5 Berm Modification was
performed in August 2012. Lone Star installed approximately 18,797 square feet (neat line)
of 80 -mil double -sided textured LLDPE geomembrane to the project specifications.
Geomembrane installation for the Phase 5 Berm Modification is discussed further in
Section 3.1. Ames anchored geomembrane at the limits of the Phase 5 Berm Modification,
with the dimensions of each trench a minimum of 3 feet deep by 1 foot wide. Ames
backfilled the anchor trenches with suitable anchor trench backfill material. Ames placed
anchor trench backfill in maximum 12- inch -thick compacted lifts.
