Section 02778 <br />Geocell <br />C. Storage and Protection: <br />a. MANUFACTURER's name <br />b. Product Identification. <br />ame0 <br />2. CONTRACTOR shall ensure that geocell panels are properly loaded and secured to <br />prevent damage during transit. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall protect geocell from excessive heat, cold, puncture, cutting, or other <br />damaging or deleterious conditions. <br />4. CONTRACTOR shall ensure personnel responsible for loading, transport, and unloading <br />of geocell are fully aware of the consequences of damage to geocell, and are familiar with <br />handling and transport constraints imposed by MANUFACTURER. <br />5. CONTRACTOR shall protect geocell delivered to the project by a relatively impermeable <br />and opaque protective cover. <br />B. Acceptance at Site: <br />1. CQA Monitor shall perform inventory and surface inspection for defects and damage of all <br />geocell panels upon delivery. <br />2. CONTRACTOR shall expand and inspect any geocell roll that may be damaged below <br />surface. <br />3. CONTRACTOR shall repair damage resulting from handling and transport of geocell at <br />no additional cost to CC &V. If irreparable, in the opinion of CERTIFYING <br />ENGINEER, damaged materials shall be replaced at no additional cost to CC &V. <br />1. MANAGER will provide area for on -site storage of the geocell panels from time of <br />delivery until installation. <br />2. The storage and handling of the materials is the responsibility of CONTRACTOR from the <br />time the materials are manufactured until the time the completed installation is accepted. <br />CONTRACTOR is responsible for preparing the storage location and for the protection of <br />the materials from the elements (e.g. ultraviolet light, moisture, temperature, etc.). <br />3. After CONTRACTOR has removed material from storage, CONTRACTOR shall protect <br />geocell from puncture, dirt, grease, water, moisture, mud, mechanical abrasion, excessive <br />heat, and other sources of damage. <br />4. CONTRACTOR shall preserve integrity and readability of the geocell labels and store the <br />panels such that MANAGER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER have access to the <br />package slips or labels for each panel to verify panel acceptance. <br />Page 2 of 5 <br />June 4, 2012 <br />Revision 0 <br />
