Table E -1:
Task # Description Time Needed (Months)
1 Strip topsoil and place berm along north side of Pit 1 0.5
2 Strip overburden from Pit 1 to stockpile at southeast corner of site 0.5
3 Bring in portable crusher, screen plant, stackers, truck scale, and scale house. 0.25
4 Mine Pit 1 144.0
5 Reclaim Pit 1 and mine Pit 2 48.0
6 Reclaim Pit 2 and mine Pit 3 24.0
7 Reclaim Pit 3 12.00
8 Remove all facilities 0.50
9 Reseed and mulch reclaimed areas 0.25
Total months
Total years
230.5
19.2
Note that Task 7 includes the removal of the visual berm by bulldozing this topsoil onto the
backfilled slopes for final reclamation. The ramp from the 33 Road access to the pit bottom will
be left in place as a mild shelf, which could be used to allow boats to enter the lake.
This schedule is planned to minimize disturbance by reclaiming areas as additional mining is
undertaken. Note: If large contracts are awarded to the site, production could increase to the
permit maximum, thereby curtailing the life of the pit. On the other hand, if contracts are less
than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended. This table is based on a reasonable
projection of average production rates.
Otter Creek Pit December 12 E -
