2. Mining Timetable
The following timetable is a best estimate of the sequence of operations for the life of the mine
for the 3 Pits assuming the anticipated annual average of 100,000 tons per year sold from Pit 1
and 250,000 tons per year for Pit 2 and 425,000 tons per year for 3.
Table D-4
Task # Description Time Needed (Months)
1 Strip topsoil and place berm along north side of Pit 1 0.5
2 Strip overburden from Pit 1 to stockpile at southeast corner of site 0.5
3 Bring in portable crusher, screen plant, stackers, truck scale, and scale house. 0.25
4 Mine Pit 1 144.0
5 Reclaim Pit 1 and mine Pit 2 48.0
6 Reclaim Pit 2 and mine Pit 3 24.0
7 Reclaim Pit 3 12.00
8 Remove all facilities 0.50
9 Reseed and mulch reclaimed areas 0.25
Total months
Total years
230.5
19.2
Note that Task 7 includes the removal of the visual berm by bulldozing this topsoil onto the
backfilled slopes for final reclamation. The mining schedule is planned to minimize disturbance
by reclaiming areas as additional mining is undertaken. Note: If large contracts are awarded to
the site, production could increase to the permit maximum, thereby curtailing the life of the pit.
On the other hand, if contracts are less than anticipated, the life of the pit could be extended. This
table is based on a reasonable projection of average production rates.
Otter Creek Pit December 12 D -
