RUNOFF FROM UNDISTURBED AREAS ALONG THE EAST <br /> SIDE OF THE MINE SITE ARE ALSO DIVERTED INTO THE CANYON <br /> DIVERSION. <br /> DRAINAGE OF AREAS DISTURBED BY MINING <br /> THE EXCESSIVE SILTING OF SURFACE RUNOFF IS CONTROLLED BY <br /> THREE BASIC MEANS . RUNOFF FROM THE LARGE INDUSTRIAL AREAS <br /> IS DIVERTED TO SETTLEMENT PONDS , REVEGITATED AREAS AND THE <br /> TOPSOIL STOCKPILE AREA UTILIZE FILTERING AS A SILT CONTROL <br /> MEASURE , AND OTHER SMALL AREAS HAVE BEEN SURFACED WITH <br /> CLEANED GRAVEL TO PREVENT SILTING.
