Revised 11/15/81
dealers as waste oil . Disposal of petroleum products which cannot be
sold or reclaimed will be disposed offsite at the appropriate sanitary
landfill disposal site.
Underground Development Waste
The quantity of underground development waste which will be produced by
the Maxwell Mine during the permit term is expected to be minimal . The
operation of the Maxwell Mine, as reviewed in Section 2.05.3, Operation
Plan - Permit Area, does not require significant quantities of
development rock be removed from the mine. Underground development
waste results primarily from roof material produced during construction
of ventilation overcasts and floor material which is removed to
construct and maintain transportation routes and grades within the main
and submain entries. The development waste material is transported out
of the mine by a conveyor belt system and is treated similar to the coal
processing waste described in the previous section. CF&I Steel
Corporation does not plan to build a separate disposal area for the
underground development waste. Placement of this waste material is
planned for the coal processing waste bank described in the previous
section. Location of the coal processing waste bank and the small
amounts of underground development waste are shown on the Mine Plan Map
(Map 3).
Return of Coal Processing Waste to Abandoned Workings
CF&I Steel Corporation does not plan to return coal processing waste to
the abandoned workings during the term of the permit at the Maxwell
Mine.
2.05-26
