If the <br /> Contractor chooses to mix excavated rock with earthen fill, the rock <br /> shall be combined in proportions that will conform to the material <br /> specifications and such fill shall be blended well to provide a uniform <br /> mixture by windrowing, disking, or other approved methods. <br /> 10.3.3 In general, the larger stones and cobbles shall be placed in the area <br /> at or near the upstream face of the dam and the finer grained Zone <br /> 2 materials shall be placed near the Zone 1 area. Larger stones and <br /> cobbles shall be placed at the upstream face of the embankment in <br /> sufficient quantity to provide slope protection equivalent to that <br /> existing at undisturbed portions of the embankment. <br /> SPEC.A- EARTHWORK <br /> PAGE 12 <br />
