PUMP STATION ELECTRICAL
The pump station electrical system preliminary design was modified to reflect the
changes described above. One of the 300 horsepower pump starters was eliminated from
the motor control center and the cost of the conduit and wire associated with the third and
fourth pumps was also eliminated. Assuming that a maximum of two 300 horsepower
pumps would be operated at one time, the size of the transformer and main breaker could
be reduced to 1000 KVA capacity. However, there could still be a cost savings by using
the 2000 KVA transformer that is currently owned by Climax if it is available and in good
condition. In addition, it might be advisable to install the larger transformer to provide
potential future flexibility to dredge and return sludge from the seepwater pond.
4
