Stipulation No. 8 of the New Elk Permit Revision has been revised as <br /> shown on the enclosed monitoring requirements list. <br /> 2. CCAW-1 and ACAW-1 were inadvertently omitted from the list. Wyoming <br /> Fuels should continue monitoring these as required on the attached sheet. <br /> 3. The long list has been dropped from the monitoring requirements. The <br /> Division agrees with the point that the present data shows no problem <br /> with these parameters. Also, the mining operation will continue in the <br /> same seams as previously disturbed and the surface operations are such <br /> that no new sources for these parameters should be present. <br /> 4. Springs and seeps numbered 12 through 19 were all listed as sources of <br /> livestock and wildlife water. For this reason, it is important that the <br /> springs and seeps be monitored at least on an annual basis as the mining <br /> activity has the potential to affect these water sources. <br /> After further review of the spring and seep survey, it was noted that <br /> Spring No. 14 feeds a stockpond in Apache Canyon. Flow could not be <br /> measured due to the ponding. However, the Division requires that in the <br /> future a reference point on the pond embankment be established whereby <br /> water level in the pond can be noted during the annual survey. <br /> A-:gust surveying of the springs is appropriate for the area due to the <br /> fact that highest precipitation for the area occurs during June, Jul a a <br /> Nu,,usc supplying recharge to the aquifers. <br /> Stipulation No. 12 of the New Elk Findings and Stipulation No. 10 of the <br /> uolden -agle Findings are revised as follows to include the present <br /> !-onitoring plan for both mines . <br /> -29- <br /> 42!
