State
of
Co,loradlo
Southfield Mine C1981O14
Binns - DNR, Janet <janet.binns @state.co.us> Thu, Dec 6, 2012 at 10:05 AM
To: Alysha Hernandez - DNR <alysha.hernandez @ state.co.us>, Mary Rodriguez - DNR
<mary.rodriguez @state.co.us>
Good Morning,
Please scan the attached e-mail and jpg (dwg is same thing just different format) to:
Southfield Mine C1981014
Hydrology
Other Groundwater
additional information regarding Well 119459
Thankyou
Janet and George,
I want to correct the location of subsidence monitoring point I that I referred to yesterday. It is 461 ft. south of
our well #119459, and therefore is over the same Southfield Mine panel as our well. According to the Dec., 1998,
Energy subsidence report the monitoring point I had subsided 3.43 ft.
Our well #119459 has a large concrete pit that extends about 3 ft. above the ground and has about a 6 ft.
diameter concrete cover. There was a powerline approaching from the east that has been removed due to
destruction from an ice storm; however there still is a meter pole remaining. We believe that this surface
structure and well should have been monitored as part of the subsidence monitoring plan pursuant to 2.05.6.
1 have revised the map I provided yesterday to include monitoring point I, the NWMW, and the open drill hole
SF87 -07 for additional reference locations that might be readily recognized. This revision is attached as well, jpg
and well.dwg.
The Energy Map 12 that shows the two other wells of the Corley Mine Well and the Corley Co. Well definitely
does not show our well #119459, The one shown as the Corley Mine Well was the source of the water Energy
used for their mining and prep plant purposes. The well shown as the Corley Co. Well was a well drilled in the
1970s that proved to be unsatisfactory and was plugged.
WD Corley, Jr.
- -- On Tue, 12/4/12, W D Corley, Jr. <ajj tt.net> wrote:
From: W D Corley, Jr. <ajjc @att,net>
Subject: Re: Water well #119459
To: "JanetBinns - DNR" <janet,binns @state.co.us>
Date: Tuesday, December 4, 2012, 2:23 PM
Janet,
