tunnel since the floor of the tunnels is solid andesite (fine grained granite), which is nearly
impermeable. The liquids will travel downhill to the lined Sump 2. Also, there is no chance that
chemicals stored could spill out of the mill tunnel to the surface given the 1% grade over the
distance of 415 feet from the Mill Portal to the sump. The drift from the mill area to the Revenue
drift has even more capacity. No chemicals will be stored in the area that will drain to Sump 1.
Sumps 1 and 2 will be 10 feet wide x 15 feet long and 2.7 feet deep after the lining is placed. This
sump will be excavated out of the andesite host rock by blasting.
The MSDS sheets for each chemical are enclosed in Appendix 5. Normally, the SPCC Plan covers
only petroleum based chemicals but the SPCC Plan for this site will have inspection and reporting
requirements for the diesel fuel tanks as well as the chemicals stored underground for the mill
operation.
The process flow sheet of the mill can be seen in Map T -1. .
Note: Additional equipment may be utilized to ensure that tailings produced are inert.
Revenue Mine August 2012 T -20
