The aecre <eate flow of a maximum of 20.000 epm from the Splitter Box will he
distributed to (2) two identical Comag "Trains. Each Comae Train consists of one
primar\ \ essel sub-di \ ided into (4) four sections designed to mix the solution through a
horizontal serpentine flow path. A coagulant is added in the first section of the tanks.
magnetite is added in the third section of the tanks. and a flocculant is added in the fourth
section of the tanks.
Flow then proceeds to the Comae Clarifier. The resulting liquid fraction. known as
Enhanced Barren. of maximum of approximately 20.000 epm is pumped back to the
Barren and Enrichment Tanks to be distributed on AGVLF as normal. The product solid
component. still quite high in moisture content. will he pumped to the Gravity Thickener.
The liquid component from the Gravity Thickener will return to the Comae Trains as
makeup water for re -use. The product component (3 -6% solids) from the Gra\ it\
Thickener will proceed to the dewaterine phase which is a filter press. where a polymer
will he added. The resulting dewatered product will he transported off -site for metals
recces erg'.
1'he remaining tanks and storage features will contain relatisele benign flocculants.
coagulants and product sludge. An important safety feature of the piping between the
AGAI)R and the PSI?S is a set of valves that close in the es ent of a loss of power.
8.2 Squaw Gulch ADR
The SGADR complex will consist of the SGADR building along with a storage area, warehouse,
offices, and parking. The area will be similar to the existing AGADR. The SGADR complex
will be located on the southwest edge of the SGVLF upgradient of the toe berm on the north side
of realigned SH 67. Vehicles will enter from SH 67 with a new access to be permitted through
CDOT as discussed in Section 5.8. The complex will be located within a fenced and gated secure
area. There will be a guard house at the gate to monitor vehicles entering the facility.
The SGADR building and chemical storage areas will be constructed on a graded and prepared
foundation within the PSSA lined area of the SGVLF. The grading will be completed on placed
ore. Location of the SGADR and associated facilities within the PSSA lined area will allow any
drainage from the SGADR surface area to have secondary and tertiary containment as provided
by the SGVLF PSSA liner system described in Section 7.2.1 of the Project Description.
Concrete flooring for the SGADR will include curbing and floor drains graded to carry flows to a
sump which can be pumped to recover any potential spills.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension 2
8 -4
* - -{ Formatted: Line spacing: single
