7.0 PSSA STORAGE <br />amec <br />The water balance completed for the Phase 5 VLF, as presented and approved in <br />Amendment No. 9 to Office of Mined Land Reclamation Permit M- 1980 -244, indicates that <br />the storage requirement for the Phase 5 PSSA below elevation 9,765 feet is 73.1 million <br />gallons (MG). Note that the original design of the PSSA had a capacity of 74.5 MG; however <br />the VLF water balance indicated the maximum required solution storage (including all <br />contingencies) is approximately 53 MG (elevation 9,759 feet). Therefore, the constructed <br />capacity is 140 percent more than is required.
