4.1.5 Permeability Tests
ame0
percent above the 3 /4-inch sieve (approximately 128,400 cubic yards), AMEC performed six
(6) CQA standard Proctor compaction tests, resulting in one test per 21,400 cubic yards,
exceeding the testing frequency of one test per 50,000 cubic yards. The SF compaction test
results met project specifications and are presented in Appendix H.2 and summarized in
Table 5. CQC Proctor tests were not included in the Proctor testing frequency.
AMEC performed standard Proctor compaction tests of SLF in order to compare in -place
densities and moisture contents with laboratory derived values of maximum dry density and
optimum moisture content. AMEC performed sixty -seven (67) CQA standard Proctor
compaction tests of SLF. The testing frequency (approximately one test per 1,658 cubic
yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per 5,000 cubic yards.
The SLF compaction test results met project specifications and are presented in
Appendix H.2 and summarized in Table 7. CQC Proctor tests were not included in the
Proctor testing frequency.
AMEC performed standard Proctor compaction tests of SSF in order to compare in -place
densities and moisture contents with laboratory derived values of maximum dry density and
optimum moisture content. AMEC performed one (1) CQA standard Proctor compaction
tests of SSF. The testing frequency (approximately one test per 315 cubic yards) exceeded
the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per 50,000 cubic yards. The SSF
compaction test results met project specifications and are presented in Appendix H.2 and
summarized in Table 9. CQC Proctor tests were not included in the Proctor testing
frequency.
AMEC conducted permeability tests of SLF. AMEC conducted forty -four (44) permeability
tests of re- compacted samples of SLF. The testing frequency (approximately one test per
2,487 cubic yards) exceeded the minimum specified testing frequency of one test per
4,000 cubic yards. Testing was performed with a flexible -wall permeameter, during material
processing, with back - pressure saturation and a constant rate of flow (ASTM D5084,
Method D). The fill was re- compacted to 95 percent of the standard Proctor (ASTM D698-
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc
2000 S.
