amee°
Portion and temporarily along the 10,060 and 10,130 to 10,180 ft elevations in an anchor
trench, with the dimensions of each trench a minimum of 3 feet deep by 1 foot wide. Ames
backfilled the anchor trenches with suitable anchor trench backfill material, or with SLF
material where the future primary geomembrane liner covers the anchor trench. Ames
placed anchor trench backfill in maximum 12- inch -thick compacted lifts. Anchor trench
backfill was compacted with a hand - operated 500 -pound vibratory compactor and "Jumping
Jack" compactors to project specifications.
2.8 High Volume Solution Collection System
The High Volume Solution Collection System (HVSCS) is comprised of HVSCS piping, the
HVSCS riser piping and foundation, and the HVSCS sump. The HVSCS piping is presented
in IFC Drawings A400 and A410. The portion of the 2011 Phase 5 VLF OSA 3 Portion
documented herein included installation of HVSCS piping only. As such, the HVSCS riser
system installed in the Pregnant Solution Storage Area (PSSA) is not discussed further in
this report.
Ames installed approximately 39,944 linear feet of 4 -inch diameter PCPE Tertiary HVSCS
pipe; 4,215 linear feet of 8 -inch diameter, and 3,025 linear feet of 12 -inch diameter PCPE
Secondary HVSCS pipe to project specifications.
Ames began installing the PCPE HVSCS pipes in June 2011, and completed in November
2011. Pipe locations are shown on Record Drawing No. 5 of 5 in Appendix A. Ames
haunched pipes with DCF and kept pipes in place during DCF placement.
A network of 4 -inch Tertiary HVSCS pipes were installed at approximately 100 feet
on- center at a minimum 2 percent grade, draining to the larger secondary PCPE HVSCS
pipes. Four -inch Tertiary HVSCS pipe sections were connected to each other using
couplings, and were attached to the secondary HVSCS pipe using ties. Laborers haunched
pipes with DCF and kept pipes in place during DCF placement.
AMEC Earth & Environmental, Inc
2000 S Colorado Blvd 2 -1000
Denver, CO 80222
Tel 303 - 935 -6505
Fax 303 - 935 -6575 www amec corn 12
