A Cat D10 dozer will be utilized to rough grade disturbed areas and a
Cat 16G grader will be used for final grading. Backfilling and grading
operations will be conducted to blend disturbed areas with the adjacent
terrain and to avoid the creation of long uninterrupted slopes. Since
there are no steep slopes in the proposed permit area cut and fill
terraces will not be installed. However, grading will result in an
undulating topography designed to achieve approximate original contour,
increase moisture infiltration, reduce runoff potential, compliment the
drainage patterns of the adjacent area, and minimize erosion. Final
graded areas will be surveyed to insure establishment of the most
moderate slopes practicable.
Specifically, the haulroad shall be graded to conform with the
surrounding topography by pushing fill materials into cut slopes, once
road surfacing materials are removed and disposed of in accordance with
Rule 4.11.1. Following removal of the tipple facility and the disposal
of all non - salvageable materials at the Foidel Creek Mine waste rock
disposal area (Minor Revision of October 1985), the disturbed area will
be graded so as to blend with the adjacent landscape.
The final surface configuration for the proposed permit area is shown
on Map 11, Fish Creek Tipple Postmining Topography. A comparison of
the existing topography to the pre- and post - disturbance contours is
provided on Map 12, Premining and Postmining Cross Sections.
Stabilization Plan
The physical properties of the overburden /spoil within the proposed
permit area will tend to stabilize the regraded surface. As discussed
under Rule 2.04.9, coarse fragments constitute a large percentage of
the graded spoils adjacent to the Fish Creek Tipple area. These
consolidated materials generally remain intact for several years.
2.05 -34 Revises 04/13/88
