The following information should be added to
Exhibit E RECLAMATION PLAN
1. Introduction
The entire 25.0 acre site will be restored for use as high altitude rangeland and wildlife habitat
with the exception of a) some access roads will be left and b) some undisturbed areas will not
need reclamation.
The acreage breakdown is as follows:
Total permit = 25.0 acres
Undisturbed Area = 2.66 acres
Roads to remain = 1.24 acres
Area to be reclaimed for worst case = 25.0 - 2.66 ac - 1.24 ac = 21.13 acres.
The worst case is the current site condition as of October 2012. The maximum disturbance is
already disturbed and the highwalls will need to be reclaimed. As the operation progresses, the
current infiltration pond will fill up with fines and this will lessen the amount of backfilling and
grading needed for reclamation.
Gravel piles that have been through the processing plant will be sold. All portable equipment will
be moved off site. The truck scale, vehicles, trailers and all other structures will be removed from
the site. Once all structures are removed, the site will be backfilled and graded. Topsoil that exists
in current stockpiles will be spread over the entire disturbed area to a depth of 6 inches. The
topsoil will then be drill seeded and mulched with mulch from beetle kill trees that have been
brought to the Golden Cross property outside the permit area.
2. Backfilling and grading:
A) Placer Pit: The pit will be limited to a maximum of 20,000 cy for backfilling.
B) The Infiltration Pond and highwall will be limited to a maximum of 12,000 cy backfilling. A
fill pile of approximately 8,000 cy is located immediately south of the highwall and will be used
to backfill the pond with an extremely short downhill dozer push. This pile is seen on Map C -2.
C) Other backfilling on site of process ponds and general grading is limited to 16,000 cy.
The total backfilling and grading quantity is therefore 48,000 cy.
