Compliance With Mine Plan NA - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> NA -Other NA - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> Y -Processing Waste Y -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> This was a complete inspection of the Bowie No. 1 Mine conducted by Susan Burgmaier of CDRMS. Basil Bear <br /> of Bowie Resources, LLC was present during the inspection. Weather conditions were sunny and warm;ground <br /> conditions were very dry. The mine is no longer producing coal, and reclamation of the site is nearly complete. <br /> No reclamation or maintenance activities were observed during the inspection. Overall the site was in good <br /> condition and well maintained. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> Records were inspected at the Bowie No. 2 Mine office. All required records were available and current, <br /> as documented in the attached checklist. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.1411 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour <br /> 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br /> 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Backfilled and regraded slopes at the east and west mines were stable with no evidence of slumping, <br /> cracking, or excessive erosion. <br /> HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05❑ Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, <br /> 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water <br /> Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Drainage—Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; <br /> Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> Ponds, 1, 3, 4,the West Ridge, and ROM ponds at the East Mine were dry. Pond 2 held very little water, <br /> well below the discharge level. Pond 1 was recently dredged, and the operator indicated that Pond 3 would likely <br /> be dredged late this year or next year,however the sediment level in Pond 3 was below the level at which cleanout <br /> is required. The two ponds at the West Mine and the two ponds at the loadout were all dry. <br /> The operator had recently reconstructed Ditch 7 at the East Mine. The ditch was regraded, lined with filter cloth, <br /> and armored with rip rap.
