COMMENTS
This was a complete inspection of the Bowie No. 2 Mine conducted by Susan Burgmaier of CDRMS. Bill Bear of
Bowie Resources, LLC was present during the inspection. Weather conditions were clear and warm; ground
conditions were very dry. The mine was producing coal from the B seam. Refuse was being placed in Gob Pile
42.
AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17:
The main haul road was being watered during the inspection, and material on the conveyor belts and gob
pile areas was wet. No fugitive dust issues were observed.
AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1):
Records were inspected in the mine office and found to be in compliance, as documented in the attached
records checklist.
BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.1411 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original Contour
4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials
4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6:
Grading and cover operations were underway on the lower two benches of Gob Pile 42. Gob Pile 44 has
been graded to final contour and will be covered as equipment progresses from Pile 42.
FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18:
Eight mule deer were browsing along the haul road between curves 2 and 3.
