Director When replying, please refer to: Stonewall Springs Central Dam Construction File No.: C -1927 Water Division 2, Water District 14 Thank you for submitting, for the review and approval by the State Engineer, the design and construction documents for the proposed Stonewall Springs Central Darn located within Section 36, Township 20 South, Range 63 West of the 6 P.M. in Pueblo County Colorado, The proposed dam will have a maximum vertical height of approximately 24 feet and a crest length of 12,485 feet. The dam is proposed to have a capacity of 6,300 acre -feet. With the presence of an existing mining operation immediately downstream in combination with the reservoir capacity, the proposed dam will be classified as a large size, High Hazard dam. We have completed our review of the design and construction documents and have found them to be acceptable for construction. We are transmitting the following with this letter. The design of the proposed Stonewall Springs Central Dam includes five requests to waive the requirements of the following Rules in the State of Colorado Rules and Regulations for Dam Safety and Dam Construction (Rules and Regulations).
