EXHIBIT "D"
MINING PLAN
6.4.4 The Mining Plan for the Stonewall Springs Quarry Gravel Pit is as follows:
(a) Description of the methods of mining in each stage of the operation as related to any
surface disturbance on affected lands:
Mining methods will be consistent throughout the life of this mining operation. The post mining
reclamation plan is developed water resource for pit areas and rangeland for other areas. Sufficient
topsoil will be saved to complete reclamation. Overburden will not be sold as product until it is
determined by the Operator that enough overburden has been stockpiled and saved for reclamation use
and for the construction of the perimeter slurry walls, earthen dams and the zoned perimeter dam. This
will be an open pit mining operation. The method of mining the sand and gravel will not be different
for the Phases from Phase One to Phase Six. The mining excavation in the phasing will stop two (2)
feet above the ground water; this will keep the applicant/operator from exposing ground water. Since
the ground water will not be exposed, augmentation will not be required. Primarily, scraper(s), front -
end loader(s) and/or excavator(s) will remove the aggregate. Material then will immediately be hauled
to the crushing and screening plant, or stored in the pit for later processing. Raw materials will be
transported with front -end loaders, and stockpiled for onsite processing. A crushing and screening
plant will operate on -site.
The processing area, concrete plant and hot mix asphalt plant will also be developed in the northern
portions of the permit areas west and east of Nyberg Road within the permit boundary. Various types
of Stockpiles will be placed between the Phases and the two water storage reservoirs. Excess material
will be used to level and raise the existing grade to a higher elevation to make a working earthen pad
for the concrete and asphalt plants and truck load -out areas.
