As noted in the TR -20, one 8 -foot by 28 -foot office trailer was moved adjacent to admin building
(see Figure B and Figure F) on October 12, 2012.
RGS also plans to construct a cover over the fuel containment at the Bulldog Mine site. The
cover will involve setting a concrete footing for the containment to be bolted into and then
covering the containment with a single- sloped roof. This structure is designed to prevent snow
and rain from entering the containment. This work is expected to begin before the end of 2012.
In October, 2012, RGS constructed a new fence and gate at the southern end of the property to
block the 9700 portal entrance and main mine entrance in order to properly secure the mine
property and powder magazines (Figure G). The fence and gate were installed in accordance
with US Forest Service decision memo dated October 27, 2012. Additionally, RGS has
constructed a site identification sign in accordance with Rule 3.1.12(1) (Figure H).
Figure I shows the current location of two 3000 - gallon propane tanks, one 1000- gallon propane
tank and one 16,800- gallon water tank. These tanks were planned to be placed on the upper
bench immediately adjacent to the portal. However, currently there is not enough space to safely
operate on the upper bench with the tanks in place. The tanks will be moved to the upper bench
once enough waste rock is piled around the portal to make sufficient space.
For the remainder of 2012, RGS plans to begin road and pad construction, and will likely not
begin facility construction until 2013.'
Reclamation
In October, 2012, disturbed ground immediately adjacent to the 9400 portal road, the area
surrounding the upper waste rock storage facility, and a small area at the Bulldog turnoff were
re- seeded. Additionally, the area surrounding the southern holding pond was also re- seeded. Re-
seeding was conducted by RGS personnel by method of hand - seeding using Forest Service -
approved, weed -free alpine seed mix at a spread rate of at least 16.51bs /acre. An outline of the
areas that were re- seeded is included on Figures J and K.
On September 16, 2012, two areas (north and west of the main gate and the eastern berm) were
sprayed using Milestone weed spray in order to control Canada thistle growth. An outline of the
area sprayed is included on Figure J.
On October 24, 2012, in accordance with Rule 3.9.1(1), RGS hand - seeded the reserved topsoil
pile in order to provide for stabilization and protection of metallic dusts.
As a requirement of permit number M- 1977 -215, RGS has attached the water levels of the three
monitoring wells around the Bulldog site (BD -MW, HW -3, and HW -4) as well as analytical
results from surrounding surface water samples (Figures L, M, N, and 0). We have also attached
a general location map (Figure P) as well as a set of maps showing the newly disturbed areas for
2012 (Figure Q and Figure R). Also included is an updated Bulldog Facilities map (Figure B)
and recent photo (Figure S) for reference.
112 East 12 Street P.O. Box 610 Creede.
