Compliance With Mine Plan N - Support Facilities Not On-site <br /> N -Other N - Special Categories Of Mining <br /> N -Processing Waste N -Topsoil <br /> COMMENTS <br /> INTRODUCTION—This was a complete inspection of the Keenesburg Strip Mine of the Coors Energy Company. <br /> The inspection was conducted by Brock Bowles of the Colorado Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety on <br /> October 25,2012. Mr. Donald MacDonald of Coors Energy Company was present for the inspection. The <br /> weather conditions were sunny and cool. There was about 3 inches of wet snow on the ground and the snow was <br /> melting. A compelete site inspection was difficult to achieve due to the snow cover and muddy conditions. <br /> AIR RESOURCE PROTECTION—Rule 4.17: <br /> The ash in the pit was covered with fill material. There was not fugitive dust noted onsite or off. <br /> AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS—Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> All files were available for review at the mine office. See attached Availability of Records checklist. <br /> BACKFILL and GRADING—Rule 4.14 Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1;Approximate Original Contour <br /> 4.14.2;Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); Steep Slopes 4.14.2,4.27;Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials <br /> 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Coal ash was being back-filled in the B-Pit form South to North. A row of backfill material was staged in <br /> the bottom of the pit in preparation for the next row of ash(photo 1). The previous day's ash was backfilled and <br /> coverfill material was spread on top. The daily ash delivery had not been delivered at the time of this inspection. <br /> FISH and WILDLIFE—Rule 4.18: <br /> Two great horned owls were flushed from the trees surrounding sediment pond 2 (photo 2). They perched <br /> on the nearby power poles for the duration of the pond inspection.
