into original road surface, if possible, at the head scarp and become shallower as they
approach the ditch.
3. Regrade the toe bulge
4. Lightly reconfigure the head scarp
5. Seed and control weeds
6. Ongoing visual inspection
— Status: Work was initiated in 2011 and is expected to be completed in 2012.
Pond 016 Slade Area
— Problem: The Pond 016 /016A area is located at the base of a mapped, pre - mining
mudflow encompassing the PM-2A drainage basin.
— Remediation: An approved remediation plan is inplace and was implemented in 2011.
— Status: Work began in 2011 and is expected to be completed in 2012.
• Pond 017 /Stock Tank T -25 Area
Problem: There is instability (slump /small slide) in the undisturbed area above Pond 017.
Stock Pond T -25 overflowed and the drainage channel above and below the pond was
damaged.
— Remediation: The proposed remediation of the area is to remove Stock Pond T -25 and to
repair the drainage channel PM -1. The road along the edge of Pond 017 will have water
ditched on the upper side and piped under the access road.
Status: Work is expected to be initiated in 2012.
f
• Pond 006 Area Slumps
— Problem: There are several slumps upslope and around Pond 006. This area was
identified as a historically active landslide area (prior to mining).
— Remediation: The area was regraded, sloped and revegetated during the narrowing of the
main entrance road for final reclamation.
— Status: Work was completed in 2011.
AREAS IDENTMED BUT NOT TO BE REPAIRED /STABILIZED
There are numerous slumps and highwall settlement cracks showing up within the II -W
disturbed areas as shown on the attached map, 2011 Areas of Instability. During the July site
visit and inspection, it was decided that if the slump /settlement crack did not threaten any
permanent structures or drainage channels or if repair would cause more disturbance than
required to actually remediate the site, the sites would be left to remediate /stabilize themselves.
The areas will be visually inspected each spring and shown on the Rill & Gully Map. An
explanation of these areas is included in the attached report by Jill Carlson (CGS).
TR -76 20-E-2 11/11
