May 31, 2012
Karen Fischer
2350 G Rd,
Grand Junction CO 81505
karenfischer(a;yahoo.com
Karen,
Sample 454 is CM -25, O'Connor Design Inc.
The nitrogen and phosphorus levels are low in this soil. Generally, nitrogen is not
recommended for establishment of perennial dryland grasses. More often steps must be
taken to reduce the nitrogen level prior to planting native dryland grasses and shrubs. The
latter is not the case for this site.
The phosphorus test Ward uses needs to be converted to AB -DPTA test and that is
accomplished by multiplying by .17. Thus the phosphorus level of this soil is 1.51 ppm.
Apply and incorporate 40 lbs PROs /ac prior to seeding.
All other nutrients are adequate.
Sincerely,
Reply to: Grand Junction
Curtis E.
