Equipment Required (With Operator) <br /> - Caterpillar D-7H or equivalent 215 fhp dozer, with operator <br /> Caterpillar 4168 backhoe/loader or 74 fhp equivalent, with operator <br /> - Ten (10) cubic yard on/off highway rear dump/haul truck, with operator <br /> - Caterpillar 12G Motor Grader or 135 fhp equivalent, with operator. <br /> The General Bid Specifications, 1996, Section 19.0, Equipment Rental, are applicable to this <br /> Invitation to Bid. A copy of Sectiori 19.0 is attached. <br /> Machine time is NOT guaranteed, however, if a particular piece of equipment is used, it will be <br /> used fora minimum of eight (8) hours. Equipment bid costs for the first eight (8) hours (Bid <br /> Schedule Items 1, 2, 3, 4, 5) shall include the cost of mobilizing and demobilizing the piece of <br /> equipment to and from the site. Any time above 8 hours for a single mobilization event will be paid <br /> at the rate bid for additional hours (Bid Schedule Items 1 a, 2a, 3a, 4a, Sa, 6a). <br /> CONTRACTOR will be used on an "on call" basis, and must be available at the site with the <br /> specified equipment by 9.00 a.m. the morning following notification by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> Although machine time is NOT guaranteed, it is estimated that the dozer and backhoe/loader may <br /> be used for up to 32 hours each, and that the motor grader could be used for 24 hours. <br /> Depending upon site conditions, additional utilization of any one piece of equipment may be <br /> required. <br /> Sediment Control <br /> Sediment control measures may be installed at areas experiencing excessive erosion. The <br /> CONTRACTOR will supply prefabricated silt fence with posts (Mirafi Prefabricated Silt Fence with <br /> Posts having a 2-foot width and 3 feet between posts, or equivalent), or straw bales and rebar. <br /> Silt fence, when used, shall be installed as per Figure 1, Typical Silt Fence Installation, attached. <br /> Straw bales, when used, shall be placed flat an the ground surface. Dirt shall be shoveled in front <br /> of the bales in order that water cannot seep under or between bales. Two (2) four feet (4') lengths <br /> of rebar shall be driven through each bale within eight inches (8") of the side edges of each bale. <br /> The rebar shall be driven through the bales and into the ground so that no more than four inches <br /> (4") of rebar is exposed above the bale. Sediment control measures shall be placed in locations <br /> designated by the PROJECT MANAGER, Use of these materials is NOT guaranteed. <br /> 3 <br />
