3. Culvert E-2 shall not be removed. Low water crossing E-1 will not be constructed. See
Map 4.
4. Culvert G-26 will be removed and a low water crossing shall be installed at this location.
The rolled dip immediately south of culvert G-26 (Map 4) shall not be constructed.
5. There is a phone line buried adjacent to the outside edge of Road G. The trustee for the
bankrupt estate reports that there is not a problem if this line is cut. Contractors will not
be required to repair or replace this phone line if it is severed.
6. Culverts may be excavated and removed from the site at CONTRACTORS expense. If
CONTRACTOR elects to completely remove culverts, the entire length of the culvert
excavation must be refilled and compacted as per Task 2. Extracted culverts may not be
stockpiled in locations other than in the vicinity of the Roads project. All extracted
culverts must be removed from the site prior to initiating revegetation efforts.
7. Due to the rocky nature of some road segments, crimping of mulch with machine
grouzers will not be allowed.
8. Mulch length must be no shorter than six inches (6").
9. Broadcast seeding of the road surfaces will be allowed. The seed must be worked into
the soil by dragging implements across the ground surface after seeding, or by other
suitable means.
10. Due to climatic conditions, seeding may not begin prior to September 1 , 1996.
11 . In order to accomplish revegetation and other maintenance activities after the grading
work is completed, a minimum of two wheel access must be provided along the roads.
Large rocks may be pushed to the side during the road grading process in order to help
maintain access. This should be done prior to undertaking the seedbed preparation work
described in Section 20.3 of the General Bid Specifications.
12. All terms and conditions of the Invitation and Bid other than as changed by this
amendment remain the same.
13. Receipt and acceptance of this amendment shall be acknowledged on the bid form.
m:\wnp\sgr.roadam1
