TASK 7 SURFACE DRAINAGE: CUT-OUT TRENCHES <br /> Cut-out trenches shall be constructed in various locations as marked in the field by the <br /> PROJECT MANAGER. The cut-out trenches shall be constructed in order to help channel <br /> water off of the steepest portions of the Mine 2 Fan access road. The cut-out trenches shall <br /> be constructed as follows: <br /> Trenches shall be triangular in shape, and be installed perpendicular to the road gradient. Each <br /> trench will be a minimum of twelve (12) inches deep as measured from the base to the crest. <br /> Side slopes will be no steeper than 3H:1 V. See Cross Section 3, Generalized Cross Section <br /> of Cut Out Trenches. <br /> It is estimated that seven (7) cut-out trenches will be constructed on the Mine 2 Fan Access <br /> Road, with an estimated aggregate length of 245 feet. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> The cut-out trenches constructed at each location will be measured to the nearest linear foot. <br /> Payment for this task will be at prices established in Item 7 of the Invitation and Bid Sheet per <br /> lineal foot installed. Such Payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, <br /> materials, equipment and all other items necessary and incidental to the furnishing and <br /> placement of the Cut-Out Trenches as directed and described in the specifications. Payment <br /> will be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. Payment for this <br /> task will be made only for the unit prices shown under Item 7 of the Bid Schedule. <br /> TASK 8 EQUIPMENT RENTAL <br /> Additional areas in the vicinity of Mines 1 and 2 and the associated reclamation construction <br /> areas may require additional grading, excavation, slope reduction, and/or erosion control work <br /> not specifically described in these Special Conditions, under the direction of the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. A CAT D-711 or equivalent 215 FHP machine with operator, and a CAT 416B <br /> Backhoe loader or equivalent 74 FHP machine with operators shall be furnished for additional <br /> work as needed. The hours outlined in Item 8 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br /> All work will be accomplished according to Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, which is <br /> attached. Any additional dozer or backhoe work which may arise will be covered under this <br /> task. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment will be made as per Specification 19.0, Equipment Rental, which <br /> is attached. Payment will be made at the unit prices established in Item 8 of the Bid <br /> Schedule. The hours outlined in Item 8 of the Bid Schedule are NOT guaranteed. <br /> 23 <br />
