fifteen (15) feet. Additional minor grading as needed to eliminate sharp breaks in the ground
slope at the outside edge of the corridor may be required. Upon completion of the grading
work, the conveyor corridor shall be ripped to a depth of eighteen 0 8) inches.
Task 4g - Mine 2 Bathhouse Area
Earth work at the Mine 2 Bathhouse area will consist of partial elimination of the cut slope
near the bathhouse building, grading of the bench area and filling of the conveyor depression
at the north end of the bench.
Rubble and debris will be placed at the location of the bathhouse during Task 2, Demolition.
Backfilling of this area will occur to a height of eighteen (18) feet above ground level as
measured from immediately south of the bathhouse. The fill shall extend for an estimated one
hundred (100) feet, and shall be tapered to match the existing slope at the southwestern
edge. The debris or rubble to be disposed of at this site shall be covered by a minimum of
four (4) feet of earthen materials during completion of this Task. The fill shall be compacted
every six (6) feet with a sheep's foot roller. Upon completion, the outslope of the fill shall not
exceed 2H:1 V.
Fill material shall be derived from the bench and from the bench outslope. As a result of
excavation operations, the bench will be sloped at no greater than two percent (2%) to the
south east. Upon completion, the excavated bench outslopes shall not exceed 2H:1 V.
The conveyor depression located north of the bathhouse shall be filled and graded to blend
with the surrounding bench using material located at the northern portion of the bench. The
dimensions of the depression are estimated to be six (6) feet wide, four (4) feet deep and
seventy five (75) feet long. The excavated slope shall not exceed 2H:1 V upon completion of
excavation.
Upon completion of the grading work, the bathhouse bench remnant shall be ripped to a depth
of eighteen (18) inches.
Two (2) contour furrows will be excavated at the top of the bathhouse bench road located
at the southern edge of the bench. These furrows will be constructed and paid for under Task
5, Surface Drainage: Contour Furrows.
Task 4h - Mine 2 Fan
There are two entries at the Mine 2 fan. The south entry should be considered hazardous
as roof failures and slope instability have occurred above the entry. Extreme caution must be
used when working in this area.
At the Mine 2 fan, the upper portion of the fan bench outslopes will be uniformly excavated
such that no excavated slope exceeds 2H:1 V upon completion of the excavation. The
excavated material shall be transported to each fan entry. Excavated material will be placed
within the fan entries to supplement the rubble material placed within each entry under Task
2, Demolition. The excavated material will be placed within the entries so that void spaces
are minimized. The entries shall be filled from the existing block wall to the entry opening and
16
