c. Soil Excavation and Stockpile Areas
d. Surface Drainage Control Structures
e. Fuel and Oil Storage Areas
g.
The waste dump area was stripped of soil that was redistributed over the
previously reclaimed waste rock during reclamation. It is not practical to strip
this soil off the waste rock pile to reuse in the new reclamation effort. As the toe
of the existing waste rock pile is expanded, or the pile is extended up the hillside,
soil will be salvaged from these areas and stored to the west of the waste area.
For a detailed description of all stormwater diversion structures and maps, see
Appendix III - Drainage Design Plan.
A 500- gallon diesel storage tank will be brought onsite once mining operations
are re- started. A lined secondary containment adequate to contain 120% of the
tank's contents will be constructed underneath the tank.
No large quantities of oil will be stored on site. When mining activity begins, it
may be necessary to store small quantities (5- gallon buckets) of antifreeze, motor
oil, gear oil, hydraulic oil, rock drill oil, etc. These will be stored in the
compressor shed near the portal. Used oil will be hauled offsite and disposed of
properly.
f. Shop /dry and Maintenance Shops
The surface facilities will consist of a shop building, a compressor building, and
an electrical substation. These facilities will be located adjacent to the mine
portal (see Exhibit C - Maps, Figure C4).
Roads and Associated Pads
Several roads were previously constructed in order to access ventholes 1, 2, and 3
(location and acreage associated with each are listed above).
Access roads and pads will be sprayed with magnesium chloride or water as
needed to control fugitive dust. The magnesium chloride will not be stored onsite,
but rather brought in as needed.
