2
The citizen's complaint received by AFO also alluded to concerns
with the plan for reclaiming mine roads. For the record, the
approved reclamation plan in the mine permit is in congruence with
specific comments from the US Forest Service. This plan was
approved by the DMG and the OSM. The USFS has recently expressed
a desire for an alternate road reclamation plan. DMG has not
rejected the USFS proposal, as alleged in the Mechau letter. DMG
has been trying to arrange a date to meet with the USFS to discuss
road reclamation. USFS personnel are apparently not available for
this meeting until some time in late January or early February.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
S ve r
Coal Program Supervisor
cc: Mike Long
Tony Waldron
Larry Routten
m: \coal\lpr\122293
