Mr. George Wear -2- July 26, 1985
Further, it is stated that the proposed monitoring program will result in the
development of site-specific subsidence projection models for the Coal Basin
area. These issues will need to be addressed by Mid-Continent before the
Division can review whether a Subsidence Program is no longer required at the
mine site, or if a reduction in monitoring is appropriate.
With the obtaining of approval from the Gunnison National Forestto extend the
permit beyond the lease boundaries a sufficient distance to account for
subsidence, Mid-Continent is able to mine up to fifty (50) feet from the lease
boundaries. However, Mid-Continent must request a Technical Revision showing
a permit boundary change. This technical revision must include verification
that the 20.50 angle of draw is the worst case.
The processing of the request for subsidence monitoring suspension will also
be handled as a Technical Revision.
If you should have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
Candace M.
