Tree removal: Given that the referenced spoils pile has existed for an extended time, several trees have
grown voluntarily in the spoils pile. These volunteer trees will be removed from the portion of the spoils
pile that is to be used for fill material. The larger portions of the trees that are usable will be truck
hauled offsite. Options pertaining to the remaining limbs from the tree removal are chipping and
spreading of the chips or spreading the limbs on the disturbed areas.
The trees that have previously windfell or caved into the subsidence holes will also be removed prior to
backfilling and hauled offsite.
Mulch: The preapproved rate of mulching in the permit document is 2 tons per acre. Options pertaining
to MR -58 are: 2 tons per acre of straw mulch or certified weed free hay or if the remaining tree limbs
are chipped, spreading the wood chips on the disturbed areas.
Cost estimate: The cost estimate for the above described mitigation plan is $8,350.00.
Term of proiect: The contractor is scheduled to prepare the equipment for the project on October 8,
2012 and mobilize to the site on October 9, 2012. The contractor anticipates approximately 12 workdays
to complete the project.
Enclosures:
• Revision Application Form
• Revised Table 33 Seed Mixture
• 8.5" x 11" map from DRMS December, 2011 inspection report
• Large map, "Subsidence Mitigation Map"
