Request for extension.
Dear Mr. Mathews:
Mid-Continent Resources had previously requested and received
approval for an extension of the deadline for abatement of Nov C-
90-049 to allow completion of the approval for Technical Revision
18. This request for technical revision would allow for
construction of secondary spillways at various sediment ponds,
including pond 4-1, which was cited in the Nov.
We will plan to proceed immediately with installation of the
secondary spillway, which is required for abatement of the Nov, as
soon as we receive approval of the technical revision. However, as
we have not yet received such an approval, there is not sufficient
time to complete the necessary work prior to September 20.
The abatement work has been completed on Pond 023 . Further work
will be done to this pond on approval of TR-18 to install a
secondary spillway. However, this work is not a requirement for
abatement, and you noted in your letter of July 10, 1991, which
concerned our request for extension of time to abate Nov C-90-049,
that "final certification is not required as a component of the NOV
abatement" for the work required on Pond 023 . I believe,
therefore, that this component of the NOV has been satisfied as far
as abatement work, and that upon completion of the pond 4-1
secondary spillway, the violation can be terminated.
Culvert C-3 has been replaced, and NOV C-90-050 has been
terminated.
Yours truly,
Diane Delaney
Mid-Continent Res. --,
